Dior adds new blossom Tote, backpacks to Pre-Fall 2016 Bag Lineup and We have All the Pics

At the moment, Dior is in a holding pattern. spring 2016 was Raf Simons’s last season as the brand’s creative director and parent company LVMH has yet to name his replacement; there was a similar gap between Simons’s appointment and the ouster of predecessor John Galliano. Dior has a history and heritage like few others in the luxury market, and that implies the house design team can sustain it for a bit while the brand’s executives make sure they make the best hire–no one’s going to forget about Dior just because the brand was relatively quiet for six months or a year.

Luckily, Simons’s time with the brand gave the house team a huge, strong foundation upon which to work in his absence. Pre-Fall 2016 includes stunning new iterations of the popular lady Dior and Diorama Bags, as well as new Diorever Totes, which was Simons’s last big bag debut. The lineup also includes multiple versions of two new additions, the simple, pretty blossom tote and the much more complicated Stardust Backpack, both of which come in two different sizes. Neither is a revelation, but they both attractive options that help flesh out the line and give consumers something new to consider.

PurseForum Roundup – February 13

Did you miss us? We’re sorry we missed all our PurseForum Roundup regulars last week, but we plan to make up for it with a picture-heavy look at some of our best conversations and reveals over on tPF. We visited Dior, Christian Louboutin and finally Balenciaga, where we found a super restoration thread we are sure you will enjoy.

In Coach this week, SyrenityToo posted a very nice and comprehensive look at the new Swagger bag, complete with photos. reactions to the bag in our subforum are mixed, but this review is top-notch!

That hearts-and-chocolates holiday is right around the corner, and coach members have already planned which bags they will be carrying; reds in every shade certainly dominate the field. The Valentine’s Day thread has been bumped and filled with gorgeous new bags, so drop in and get inspired.

We promised you lots of pictures this week, and that’s an easy task when our members reveal stunning bags like this haircalf patchwork soft borough from Desert pack Rat. There are plenty more pictures in this thread, so head on over.

Could you muster the gumption dye an expensive handbag? This skeptical kitty looks to be giving our brave member kerryisntreal the feline side-eye in Balenciaga’s dye project in progress thread. but real or not, courageous kerry certainly did a terrific job sharing this adventure with her very appreciative Balenciaga family. No matter what your favorite brand, if you have ever had a worn-out bag (or a cat), you will absolutely love this thread.

If you have other bag care concerns, never fear, we have an entire subforum devoted to care and Maintenance, and if you don’t find what you are looking for, all you need do is start a thread and ask!

Also in Balenciaga, this beautiful bag has quite a story, and mbaldino could use your help facing her fear. check out her thread for the full tale – and perhaps you have a little courage to spare, bacause mbaldino clearly loves this bag and needs just a wee extra push to get the two of them out and about together.

If you are thinking about a new or new-to-you Balenciaga, you will definitely want to check out this thread, where our members model their bags–it’s where many a wish list is launched.

In Dior, smudleybear is trying to decide between this shimmering blue patent lady Dior and, well, something else that we can’t even remember. This jaw-dropping bag was the hands-down favorite in this thread, but it’s not too late for you to weigh in! Bijoux lady is also having a bit of trouble making a decision, so drop in this thread if you want to cast your vote.

How’s this for an unexpected pop of color on a winter day? We spotted this luminous bag in the Diors in action thread, and there are plenty more shots of fabulous bags styled by our fashionable members. This is Panthere55 in action, by the way, and our hats are off to her.

Right at press time, we found a new reveal and couldn’t resist sharing! Chauham may be new to the brand, but she started her collection out with a bang with this cherry red lady Dior, would’t you say?

If you think there is something fabulous in this box, you are right. In Christian Louboutin, liberty showed off her first Louboutins; they do not disappoint.

Have you wondered about the thin heels on some of your favorite brands? wonder no more, friends, because we have the answers right here, in the Stabilty thread. All we can say is that is it a terrific relief to know that those of you tottering around in pin-thin spikes like these are in good hands.

Before you leave Christian Louboutin, be sure to check out For3v3rz’s new collection thread, where you will find such treasures as these stunning tie dye So Kates and so much more.

Over in The Playground–where anything goes–we found this neat idea in home and Garden’s What candle are You Burning thread, which is full of terrific ideas on scents and candle brands when you are feeling like indulging in a little (Valentine’s Day?) candle luxury.

We also dropped into Arts and Crafts and visited the Quilter’s Club, which was quite an eye-opener–we have some incredibly talented members. The Playground is a terrific way to wile away the hours and get to know the non-fashion areas of the PurseForum. trust us, there is never a dull moment in there.

That’s it for us, Roundup Readers! happy Valentine’s Day to all who are celebrating. And, to all who aren’t, help yourself to a white chocolate and lavendar cupcake, brought to us by LoveTheLouis’ mom and the I Ate This thread in The Kitchen. If white chocolate and lavender cupcakes aren’t your thing (really?), not to worry, there are plenty of other scrumptious delights in this thread to tempt you.

Thank you for stopping this week, we are happy you did. We hope you have a wonderful weekend that we’ll see you next week!

Comparing the Senreve mini Maestra and Maestra

GUYS, I’m excited! remember when I reviewed my Senreve Maestra bag and shared how much I like it? It works really well as an everyday bag—be it a work bag, a mommy bag, or just a bag to carry all of your daily necessities. I continued to carry it and utilize it for months—there is no color transfer, and I’m so impressed by that on a white bag. When we first introduced Senreve bags, I did share that a mini Maestra was on its method as well, and Senreve was kind enough to send me this bag to compare to the larger size.

Well, I can now state I’m even a lot more in like with the Senreve mini Maestra than the larger size! As Millie’s gotten older, she’s undoubtedly gotten heavier and is a lot more to manage because she’s always wanting to be on the move, and I don’t need to carry quite as lots of products with me at all times. She’s so heavy and not walking yet, so I normally carry her into places, and I need a bag that is both lightweight but incredibly functional. enter the mini Maestra—this bag is everything to me ideal now!

I sometimes find the Maestra a bit large when I don’t need all the extra space, so the mini Maestra is best (actually, Senreve, maybe we need a medium size, because I’d carry and like that too). The interior has lots of organizational setup—seven compartments in total. The padded compartment at the back of the bag fits an iPad mini, but I utilize it for diapers, a little pack of wipes, and cream. There are four little sleeve pockets, and they in shape an iphone plus, together with an additional larger zipper pocket for other loose items; that’s where I keep Millie’s EpiPen, hand sanitizer, and her other must-have products that I don’t reach for all the time.

The exterior of the bag has the exact same details as the larger size, just shrunken down. There is a front flap closure with a collar stud belt. You get pretty quick at opening and closing the bag, and typically I don’t snap the front belt, but it’s magnetic, so fastening it isn’t hard. like other Senreve bags, the interior is lined in a light blue micro-suede which is lightweight and light in color, which means you can find what you’re looking for quickly. The back has an exterior open pocket, but on the smaller size, it’s as well little for me to utilize extremely much. like all other Senreve bags, you can carry this bag multiple ways: over-the-shoulder, on the arm, crossbody, or backpack, as the double straps are easy to adjust and change the method you carry the bag, but I always opt for over-the-shoulder or crossbody.

As for the leather, it’s so good! The bag is 100% made in Italy, an aspect the Senreve team prides itself on, and the leather on this bag is Italian water-resistant pebbled leather. It’s incredibly sturdy and durable (it’s scratch resistant), yet still soft to the touch and has a smooth appearance. If you need to clean the bag, just wipe with a moist cloth—no soap. I so appreciate that I can really utilize these bags, and even opt for light colors since I know they won’t wear quickly—this blush color is as well pretty to put into words.

I was instantaneously drawn to Senreve because the bags look modern, new and clean, and I really like how passionate the duo who established the brand feels toward their bags. The clean lines on each bag make the aesthetics strong, but it’s the usability and performance that puts these bags into the must-have category for me. I always liked the Senreve Maestra best, and now that I have both, I can confidently state these bags are really, really, really good. If you need something bigger and want to carry your laptop for work, opt for the original Maestra, but if you can go with a a lot more compact bag, the mini is for you.

Shop the Maestra for $995 and mini Maestra for 695 at Senreve.com.

Bally adds contrasting trim to a prim leather tote

At first glance, I didn’t even see the little white wings on the Bally Rachele Two-Tone leather tote – against a white background, they all but disappear into the scenery. turned sideways, though, their effect is unmissable and maybe a little awkward. Does any individual but me feel like this bag is wearing a nun’s habit?

That’s probably just me, but the white wings coming off the sides of this bag have me confused. I love a crisp, neutral bag with contrasting trim, as we all know, but the implementation of the trim in this particular design makes me want to get hold of on and give it a tug. Or maybe try and push it back into the bag, like it’s stuffing that has come undone. Either way, it looks like all the white stuff is sticking out where it’s not quite meant to be.

I’m a bit disappointed, because I quite liked the simplicity of this bag until I saw the trim. A work-appropriate neutral tote is something that a lot of women will find a need for at some point in their lives, and this one is sharp enough for even the most male-dominated office environment. Without the white stuff tacked on, that is. and really, “tacked on” is the only way to describe it. The trim isn’t part of the bag’s structure at all, it merely sits around the outside, just waiting to get crushed on a too-crowded subway car or during an awkward fall off of a chair at a restaurant. With some pruning, this could be a terrific design. As it is, I’ll pass. get through Net-a-Porter for $1395.

Botkier Brooklyn snake cross Body Hobo

While I don’t consider this bag to be a hobo, I do like it. Botkier is known for infusing various elements in order to put together an ingenious design. Ok, so the design here itself isn’t something that you’ve never seen before, but the detailing involved helps this bag stand out. The combination of the snake-embossed leather and gathering details along the front of the bag are the two aspects that caught my attention.

Besides those two aspects, I also love how youthful the Botkier Brooklyn snake cross Body Hobo is. This bag exudes elements of fun and flirty. The lacing details and metal grommets along the front and back of the bag as well as the tassels at the bottom all work well off of one another. sometimes with a few different elements on the same bag it could look like disharmony, but that is not the case here. This bag would be perfect for daytime use as well as a nice accessory for certain evening outfits. more than anything, you are sure to have fun with this bag, and hey, sometimes we all need more fun in our lives. buy through Shopbop for $395.

Perfect Pairings: Charlotte Olympia gives us Copacabana elegant

have you men discovered the facelift that our sister site TalkShoes got best before the holiday? If not, head over and check it out – there are lots of exciting footwear-related things in our future, and if you love shoes anywhere near as much as you love bags, we’d love it if you joined us over there from time to time to, well, talk shoes with us.

Right now, though, we want to talk about shoes and bags, and many importantly, how they go together. Normally, I’m not a proponent of perfectly matching accessories, but the Charlotte Olympia Tweetie Parrot pouch and Cage grasp set and the Charlotte Olympia Birds of Paradise Cage Heels sandals just have to be worn together. Always. preferably while the wearer is drinking some sort of exotic drink within visual distance of a sandy beach.

In my mind, Charlotte Olympia is the only mass-market designer working best now who can get away with this kind of irreverence and literalness. If this shoe were a Louboutin, for instance, I’m not sure I would be convinced – Christian has built himself a credibility for aggressive sexuality in his shoes, even when there’s also some fun to be had, but I expect girlish shenanigans from Charlotte. In fact, I want them from her.

I like the shoe better than its grasp counterpart, to be honest, but there are things about the grasp that I like. First, that possibly the deal with is big enough to be worn as a bracelet, so you’ll always have your bag with you, even after one too numerous caipirinhas. Second, the grasp is actually two clutches – the parrot inside the cage is fully removable, and both pieces can be worn separately or together. That’s three potential crazy handbag options! Which, depending on your own personal style, might be three much more than you need or want. Personally, I always like to err on the side of fun.

We’ve been writing about Charlotte Olympia quite a lot lately over at TalkShoes – if you dig these heels, check out some of her others!

Have Your purse bring routines altered This past Year?

2020. It was a year unlike that of any type of other, however looking back the year had started off with so much promise. I was training to run the new York City half marathon, I was happy, healthy as well as my buddies were all experiencing milestones of their own. The world seemed to be at my fingertips as well as even though things seemed peaceful in my new York City community when I went to my buddies would be not-so-going-away celebration in early March pending her step to Israel, I naively felt a sense of peace. At that extremely celebration I keep in mind bring one of my newer bags, my Louis Vuitton Multi Pochette Accessoires, which I had just bought in November of 2019. bit did I understand that it would be months before I would bring that bag (or any type of bag for that matter) again.

In the wiping down our groceries phase of the pandemic (remember that?), I would head to the store with my phone in one pocket as well as secrets as well as credit score card in the other. After showing up house I would immediately wipe down everything, as well as I indicate whatever with Lysol wipes. I didn’t attempt dream of packing an actual bag to go anywhere—how would I clean it?—and the truth was that beyond the bare necessities, I didn’t requirement much to leave the home for a couple of errands.

Fast ahead to the summertime in new York City—outdoor dining had began as well as my buddies as well as I slowly began to reunite in the fantastic masked-up outdoors. At this time around there was adequate evidence that COVID-19 was seldom spread with surfaces making bring my bags once again feel safe. though by then life was insanely different, as well as costs a lot more time outdoors indicated a great deal of walking as well as movement. For that reason I selected my smaller bags that weighed less as well as were hands-free like crossbody bags or belt bags. My dressier bags as well as top manage carry-alls stayed in storage throughout the summer, autumn as well as winter, as well as now even as life returns to a kind of normal, I’ve observed exactly how much my handbag routines have truly changed.

I still like simple to wear bags that air a lot more on the side of casual. I can tolerate a great deal less fuss than I utilized to, as well as I ponder the believed of streamlining my collection. though to be sincere I’m not sure if my handbag bring routines are permanently altered or if as life eases back to typical so will I, however I’m wondering if any individual else has experienced something similar? have you observed your handbag routines altering throughout the last year?

Miu Miu Leather-Trimmed Raffia Satchel, $1450 by means of NAP

[poll id=”79″]

Over the weekend we started with windy, rainy, freezing weather condition as well as ended with sunshine as well as temperatures reaching the mid 70s. I won’t grumble since that warmth is just what I was needing, however I need to admit mom Nature is confusing me. However, with the arrival of spring as well as summer, raffia reappears.

When I very first identified the Miu Miu leather trimmed Raffia satchel on Net-A-Porter, I promptly believed to myself ‘I would never splurge on a raffia bag’. however then I kept in mind that I undoubtedly have gotten a designer raffia bag from Balenciaga as well as I adore it.

The wearability aspect goes down tremendously when believing about getting a seasonal piece such as this as well as reality be told, lots of are not fans of the scratchy look as well as feel raffia gives. On this Miu Miu bag, it is not my preferred either, however when it pertains to my Balenciaga bag I truly like it as a fun summertime bag. get the Miu Miu bag by means of NAP for $1,450.

So, would you get a raffia bag as well as if so, exactly how much would you spend on one?
