Cole Haan Kendal Drawstring carry

just as there is a great possibility you have your preferred bit black gown hanging in your closet, there is most likely a decent possibility that you have a go-to black handbag.

You understand the kind I am speaking about. It goes with anything, it is ageless as well as it is always faithful. This is the bag that can gown up or gown down an attire based on what you requirement it to do. as well as of course, while you may have a black bag that you want to bring for many years as well as years to come, you understand that a person day you’ll take a look at it as well as requirement a replacement.

So, what ought to that replacement be? I’m not right here to tell you precisely what it ought to be, however I do believe I came across a relatively appealing option. The Cole Haan Kendal Drawstring carry has traditional beauty as well as everyday usability down to a tee. The leather is supple as well as luxurious as well as the goldtone hardware shines. I am not always a fan of drawstring closures or tassels, however for some reason I truly like both on this bag. Upon very first look, I didn’t believe these handles would in shape over my shoulder, however the 16″ double rolled handles with an 8″ decrease makes me believe it may work.

Now that you’ve spent a long time taking a look at the bag, what do you think? Is this the type of black purse you’d see yourself bring as well as continuously going back to? purchase with Bluefly for $328.

Jimmy Choo Zulu clutch

Jimmy Choo Zulu Clutch

A couple of weeks back Vlad as well as I stopped by the Jimmy Choo store at the Bal Harbour Shops. I went into the store assuring myself that I would leave empty handed; I just wished to look around. Well, I am a horrible looker, I always end up wanting a bit something. While the shoes enticed, there were bags that surely caught my attention. Ramonas, Marin Clutches, as well as Mahalas.

I kept looking as well as refusing to like any type of of the bags up until the SA told me there is a fantastic clutch for a fantastic price. two times was the adjective fantastic used, as well as really, that was all I needed. She introduced me to the Jimmy Choo Zulu clutch which is designed with slick calfskin as well as light gold stud accents on the sides, bottom, as well as down the middle. I vaguely kept in mind seeing this bag on the Saks website, however the photo on the internet does refrain from doing this clutch justice. The dimensions are fantastic for day wear or for dinner as well as the clutch shifts quickly from attire to venue. There is a zip top closure, an interior pocket, as well as dimensions are 12½”W X 8″H X 1½”D. This is one of my preferred purchases lately! So take a look at my pictures, as the photos on the internet truly make the bag seem dull as well as boring, while it is much more than that in person. buy with Saks for $425.

The Tory Burch Louisa carry would make a great work bag

Tory Burch has really hit her purse stride, hasn’t she? It wasn’t long ago that we were criticizing the company for its liberal use of logos and preponderance of canvas totes, but now the line is full of beautiful leather bags at very reasonable prices. It’s no coincidence that the last time I went into one of Burch’s stores, it was so packed with customers that I could barely move around.

The Tory Burch Louisa carry is just the most recent in a string of purse successes for the brand. It utilizes the same kind of flat chain handle as the Tory Burch Louis Crossbody Bag, but this design is even better because it will likely work for even more women.

This bag also has the same tassel and relatively subtle logo hardware as the other bags in the Louisa line, plus it adds something very important: extra space. It 16 inches wide, this carry would be easily large enough to use as a work bag, even if your job needs you to carry paperwork from time to time. Not only that, but the leather is soft and neutral and the hardware provides just enough of a glam touch. Ms. Burch has been on her game lately. buy through Bloomingdale’s for $450.

What Do You think of the tiny Tote?

known (and loved) by lots of as a throw-it-all-in, grab-and-go, daily hauler for mommies (or dads), worker bees, jet-setters, and everyone in between, the tote is one of the handbag world’s a lot of functional silhouettes. The tote’s appeal is vast, and it’s not hard to understand why it’s so popular—designer or otherwise.

On the topic of luxury totes, though, it’s this shape that’s often on the a lot more affordable end of a designer’s offerings due to the simplicity of its design and the overall construction. Whereas a flap from, say, Saint Laurent will cost you well over $2,000, a leather buyer tote can be snagged for just above the $1K mark, making a tote not only a functional carry but also a a lot more easily accessible one.

While the tote has its place in every collector’s closet, making a bold style statement while still possessing that effortlessly cool, casual vibe that its wearer so desperately strives for, what about the tiny tote? Does it should have love too, or does shrinking down a tote’s size negate its adoration?

The tiny tote is Trending

Even though the tiny tote negates the functionality of the tote itself, we’ve seen this undeniably cute silhouette pop up here and there in the last few years. but this year, for spring and beyond, it seems that all of our favorite designers are bringing the tiny tote front and center.

From Prada and Fendi to instructor and Celine, we’ve already found some charming options to pick from, and with spring assortments hitting our favorite boutiques, we’ve also already identified a few of these shapes in boutiques.

This or That: The Saint Laurent Louou Bag vs. the Saint Laurent Sac De Jour

like it or not, you guys are always among the first to know when I’m in the market for a brand new bag. Who’s actually first in line depends on where I am the moment the urge strikes. sometimes it’s smack in the middle of the workday and the first thing I do is ping Amanda on gchat to proclaim that I need something new; other times, I’m sitting on my couch eating cereal and exclaim that I need a new bag, at which point my roommates either ignore my outburst or humor me and ask which one I want. sometimes I actually scratch the itch and go through with a purchase; other times I just dream about it and it never actually happens. this time I’ve got my heart set on a red bag, and two in particular have struck my fancy.

I’ve always been very into the idea of a red bag because though it’s bright and colorful, to me, it’s almost like an elevated neutral. You can wear it with so many colors, and it especially pairs well with black, white and denim–a.k.a., my entire wardrobe. I even strongly considered getting my Gucci Marmont Bag in red, but ultimately I had to go with black because I did not have a classic black bag in my current rotation. I love my Marmont, and I’m really happy that I chose black, but I still feel the need to add a red bag to my current lineup. two very different Saint Laurent mini bags are on my the brain, and though I’ve already sourced multiple opinions, my research is never complete until I’ve asked you guys what you think!

Saint Laurent has always been on my radar, though not really as a holy grail brand, but rather a tried-and-true brand that I’ve always wanted to own a piece of. In March, I snagged my first Saint Laurent item when I got a small black wallet, and I’ve been really happy with the quality of it. The caviar leather is not only beautiful, but durable, and I’m very happy with the craftsmanship of it overall. That little purchase really got me thinking that I may want to one day pick up a Saint Laurent bag too, and this, my friends, is how I am where I am at this moment—crushing hard on two red Saint Laurent bags.

The first is the small Loulou Chain strap shoulder Bag. I’m not surprised that I love this bag because it’s basically the Saint Laurent version of my Marmont bag. now that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I love the size and shape of my Marmont, and I get so much use out of it. In a way I consider this like buying something you really love in another color, or that pair of jeans you’re obsessed with in another cut/wash. Can you really have too much of a good thing? The leather is super smooth and glamorous and it’s the perfect red. I also like that the hardware is silver here versus gold, because sometimes red and gold looks a tad too Christmas-y for me. like the Marmont, the straps can convert to long or short, and overall, I don’t really have a reason not to want this bag.

The other bag I’m crushing on has been around for a fair bit, and that’s the Nano Sac De Jour in embossed Croc. I love, love, love the shrunken-down classic shape of this bag, and it’s a bag I’ve wanted to own for a long time. prior to seeing this bag in embossed croc, I really wanted it in Saint Laurent’s classic grained leather, but something about the croc in red really stole my heart. The downside to this bag is the interior—it isn’t very roomy at all, and I also dislike that the top is totally open. Unlike the small version, the nano does not have an inside zippered pocket. Living, working and playing in nyc has definitely made me much more conscious of having my valuables secure, especially when I’m out at night. I’m not sure I would be completely comfortable carrying this out at night to a dark and super-crowded bar, and if I can’t get past the open interior, I’ll have to nix this altogether because any bag I purchase must work for me from day to night—especially when it’s a mini bag! The plus side is that this bag does have a crossbody strap, which is optimal for when I’m out and about. This bag is definitely more fashion than function, and even though I know that, I still want it.

Though these bags share a brand name and a color, they are totally different! If I could have both, you best believe I would, but since I can’t, I’ll ask you guys, which one would you choose?

Chanel 2.55 washed Lambskin

Without Chanel Amour, I might not keep you all updated on the Chanel beauties that are released (Chanel’s homepage is as useless as Prada’s!!). many of you understand I am a sucker for exotic skins as well as soft materials, so these bags have made their method right to my heart. just in time for spring, the Chanel 2.55 washed Lambskin bags come in gorgeous light colors as well as look as supple as can be. exactly how about that gorgeous pink ostrich bag in the middle?? I’m melting. For the lambskin in either blue or yellow inquire with your nearest Chanel boutique. offered for $1,895.00.

And while you are at it, if you have been dying to get your hands on a gorgeous red bag or the 2.55 quilted Chanel purse, inspect out the gorgeous bag Rhiannon from Chanel Amour is selling!

Packing My Bags

As the summer pertains to in end, I can’t help but look back and feel nostalgic. I’ve come a long way considering that the first day, I remember feeling so lost and confused like it was the first day of school all over again. When I think back to the Well’s street Art festival in June, I had no idea what colors went to the which collection and how to tell the Lauren and tiny Lauren apart (fyi Lauren has four side rivets and the tiny has two on the top where the strap attaches). now I can differentiate between colors and collections with ease.

Working with Brynn, I have discovered a new found appreciation for handbags. often I forget why we use handbags in the first place. Sure, they are the best accessory to opt for your day or night outfit but for functionally, how else are we mean to carry our phone, wallet, sunglasses, and all our other random essentials. just like how Brynn creates handbags inspired by her friends individual style and need, I’ve learned that handbags really can be a direct reflection of a someone’s individual style. now walking to the train each day, I find myself checking out other girl’s handbags to see what type of style or color they like.

Not only have I learned a lot but it didn’t hurt to make a couple of friends along the way. we all may be from different states but interning would not have been the same without having these girls by my side. we all have come a long way from the first intern meeting.

As her merchandising intern, I’ve able to grow and learn a lot more than I ever imagined I would. I worked a lot more personally with her boutiques and e-commerce aspect of her business. This summer internship has been all about her preparing and promoting her fall collection. From the first day here, I assisted with the photoshoot for the fall collection then I helped design and create brochures to send out to boutiques. now as the last day approaches, we are helping launch her new web site and prepare her fall orders for delivery, who else can say they did all this in only 3 months? I absolutely can’t wait to have my very own Jenne foldover wristlet.

If anything, Brynn not only reassured me about how passionate I am about fashion but also a clearer view on how much hard work and tenacity it takes to be in this industry. hard work really does pay off and I see it every day enjoying Brynn run her business. true to her word from the intern meeting, “you really do get out of the internship what you put into it” and I can say proudly I can take a lot of lessons and experience away from this summer and I can’t wait to use it all in the next chapter of my life!

Fashion Week Handbags: Miu Miu spring 2012

images via Vogue.com

Excuse me for this moment of bluntness: Miu Miu should consider “refreshing” its handbag team.

I’m not saying that the Miu Miu spring 2012 handbags are bad; they’re not. They’re fine for the very narrow look of this runway show, but they’re not particularly relevant to anything beyond it, and most of them certainly don’t look like what the Miu Miu customer carries in her day-to-day life. I’d carry one because I’m a huge, unapologetic Miu Miu fangirl, but beyond that, I can’t see these bags having a wider appeal.

Every season, I fervently hope that the brand’s runway bags will be fabulous enough to inspire the sort of devotion and panicked credit report card-swiping that its shoes do, and my dreams are so rarely answered. Second-guessing Miuccia Prada is a rare thing for me to do, but in this case, a couple new members to her team might serve the overall brand (and handbag lovers everywhere) well. In the past few seasons, purses seem to be something of a lost company opportunity for the brand, and a well-positioned label like Miu Miu should be turning out It Bags hand over fist.
