I consider Kooba to be a relatively contemporary brand. For the most part, when I think of Kooba, I think of younger-ish women carrying the bags (meaning teens thru 30s and maybe even into 40s). I know I am making a rather big generalization, but hey, it is what it is. However, here is a Kooba bag that is absolutely amazing and one that a wide range of age groups should find appealing.

The Kooba Slouchy leather Hobo is a bit sophisticated without being overly extravagant. first things first, does anyone else think this bag isn’t quite “slouchy”? To me, due to the angular zip closures, it is more structured than slouchy. I haven’t had the chance to see this bag in person yet, so perhaps in person it is slouchy. Either way, this isn’t a point worth arguing because the bag is rather fabulous. I’m loving this blue color, but if you aren’t, it’s available in white, mocha and celadon. The single shoulder strap is embellished with goldtone hardware and just the tiniest bit of wrapped leather where the strap meets the bag. all in all, this is a bit different than what I’ve been accustom to expect from Kooba and I like it. buy through Nordstrom for $595.

This season, Fendi’s creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi was inspired by her perspective on watching the world from above at the Fendi headquarters which are located inside the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana. glimpses of the Mediterranean Sea, the seven hills of Rome, and the Apennine mountains inspired a dreamlike palette of pastel lemon and lime, icy blue, lilac, and mint, contrasted against mineral shades of chalk, graphite and slate.

As for the accessories, there was a huge assortment of styles with the accessories collection meant to evoke feelings of a playful escape from the mundane realities of the everyday. The iconic Baguette is reimagined as a jewelry pouch, shrunken down and appearing attached to a fine waist chain. It was merely two days ago that I found myself talking with Megs about how neither of us had seen numerous Kooba bags around recently. I used to encounter them all the time, much to my delight, but it seems like the brand has slowed down production a bit recently. I’m not sure why, but I’m sure that I don’t like it. I have two of their bags and would like to continue adding bags with their signature soft leather to my collection.

Lo and behold, what do I find today? The Kooba Hadley Satchel! It’s like the universe has conspired to send me a pointer to not count Kooba out, and they couldn’t have picked a better bag to do it with. The Hadley combines several of the brand’s signatures that I absolutely love: soft leather with a ideal finish, architectural and unexpected lines and uncompromising wearability.

I choose this bag in the utterly beautiful turquoise color that you can see in Kooba’s spring lookbook, but it doesn’t appear to be available for retail yet (insert pouty face here). The brown will have to do for our purposes, and for a brown bag, it has a lot of character. subtle color variation and weathering is always something that Kooba has done masterfully, and this shade of brown shows it off wonderfully.

I’d wear it in the crook of my arm, but the bag also comes with a removable take on strap, which is a feature that I have softened toward in the past six months or so. I used to hate them, but as crossbody bags have become an even much more essential part of a modern girl’s wardrobe, they seem to be a smart idea. Overall, though, I’m just thrilled to come across a Kooba bag and see that they’re as good as they ever were. purchase through Bloomingdale’s for $425.
