Fashion Week Handbags: Louis Vuitton

In a show with such an astounding number of beautiful handbags, I barely know where to begin. who would have thought after last season’s tribal tassel disaster that Marc Jacobs would come up with such a feminine, pretty, and functional collection of handbags at Louis Vuitton. I would have been the last one to guess it – in fact, I remarked to a friend last week that I was barely even looking forward to the Vuitton show.

But that’s the genius of Marc Jacobs. just when you think that you’ve got him pegged, when you think that you know what he’s going to do and how you’re going to feel about it, he veers off in the opposite direction at full speed and gives you the last thing you could have ever thought he would come up with.

This season, he took us straight back to 1940s France, with tea-length tweeds, tailored waists, and bosom-hugging dirndls. The look reminded me of the French farm girls in the opening sequence of Inglourious Basterds, but with an undoubtedly high-end, Parisian twist. It was a beautiful collection, made only a lot more beautiful by the congeries and congeries of gloriously detailed, generally wrought handbags in every material that one could imagine: crocodile, ostrich, leather, fur, lace, satin, beads, you name it. nearly all of the bags were plays on the standard quick shape, with a few wristlets thrown in for good measure. lots of Vuitton fans have been lamenting the loss of a certain amount of tradition from the staid fashion house – for those customers, this collection is a shot of sunshine straight from handbag heaven.

Throwback Thursday: What attendees wore (and Carried) to NYFW

fashion week has changed immensely over the years. From the location to the attendees to the outfits, what was once commonplace is no longer, and as we say goodbye to new York fashion Week this year, we thought it would be fun to look back at how much things have changed. Do you remember when fashion week was held in Bryant Park, commonly referred to as the tents, or when it was the norm to see socialites in sky-high heels instead of influencers sitting front row? One constant thing in the fashion world is change, so without further ado, let’s see just how much fashion has changed over the last 8 years!

Warm up with spring’s sunshine-y yellows

For the very first time this winter, it is really, genuinely, bone-chillingly chilly in new York City. Yesterday, I got my puffer coat out of the wardrobe for the very first time considering that last winter; I had been surviving considering that November on just a wool coat, however sub-20-degree temperatures made me a holdout no longer. Today isn’t any type of better.

To add insult to injury, all of the resort as well as spring arrivals look so bright as well as cheery that often I fail to remember the frigidity waiting on me outside my windows. It’s even sunny out there, however the sun is a lie! So, why not make it a bit sunnier in here? Yellow purses are a big pattern for spring, as well as a great one can make me feel warmer by simply gazing upon it. join me to look below.

Chanel’s spring 2015 Bags have arrived in Stores, including the new girl Bag

Chanel’s spring 2015 runway was the first one in a while that we weren’t substantial fans of. For the first time in several season’s, the brand’s mixture of luxury and kitsch felt a little bit off; where the Chanel Graffiti backpacks had been a deft mix of high and low, the grunge-y spring messenger bags that seemed intended as their successors reached just a little too far. and what were those bags made to look like cardigans? now that the collection is in stores, though, some of our questions have been answered and it’s clear that there’s still plenty to like.

First of all: the weird cardigan bags are now known as the Chanel girl Bag, and they are still weird. They will likely not be one of the more well-received of Chanel’s recent structural experiments, but hey, sometimes that’s how experiments go. On the other hand, if you ever wanted to tie a sweater together by its sleeves and wear it as a bag, you’re in luck.

The real winners of the collection are the pieces that appear to be water-colored, as well as the classic Flaps and boy Bags that were refreshed with chevron instead of diamond quilting for the season. Chanel is calling the former the 11.12 bag, and Kristen Stewart will be its public face.

I lastly pulled the trigger At Gucci—Here’s What Bag I dedicated to

If you comply with us on Instagram, then you already understand that a couple of weeks ago, I had a extremely fun Friday when I waltzed right on into Gucci on 5th Avenue, proclaimed “I’ll take that one,” swiped my debit card as well as walked out with a brand new infant all boxed up as well as prepared to make her debut. If you didn’t yet see, than you may be surprised that after months as well as months of deliberation, I lastly made up my mind as well as I truly couldn’t be more delighted with my purchase. The minute I got back to my apartment, I filmed a quick unboxing for our Instagram, as well as jammed all of my stuff right on in. From that moment on, I’ve been consumed with my Gucci GG Marmont Matelassé shoulder Bag.

I’ve had my bag for over two weeks now as well as have utilized it quite much daily since—even traveling to Florida this past weekend for a wedding event with her in tow. So I feel like I can provide you guys a quite precise purseonal review. After one as well many hours of thinking, I lastly had my mind set on the Marmont over something from the Dionysus collection or a bag from a different designer all together. When I went into Gucci, I was choosing between getting the mini as well as the small, as well as eventually I decided to get the small. The cost difference between the mini as well as the little is negligible—only $190, so it makes sense, unless you’re truly dedicated to getting a mini bag.

It’s fascinating to note that the mini has just recently gone up in cost to $1,790 from $1,690 on Gucci’s website, though some on the internet retailers still have it listed for $1,690. cost aside, I desired a bag that might shift quickly from day to night, as well as this size is totally perfect for me. I have a Gucci SoHo Disco Chain Bag from a few years back that I’ve shown a whole great deal of like to as well as utilize all the time, as well as so I felt the little was the very best size choice for me as it’s quite similar to my SoHo Disco.

I just adore my new bag for so many reasons. one of the things that truly drew me to it is the hardware, which is soft as well as matte instead of excessively shiny. The matelassé leather is likewise downplayed as well as not excessively puffy. The leather is soft as well as luxurious, yet quite durable. I haven’t babied this bag at all—it’s been out all the time with all hours of the night, as well as as I mentioned above, I even travelled with it. even with all of the use, I haven’t seen a single scratch, which is huge. I have lots of bags that I treasure, however wouldn’t dream of bringing together with me on a night out in NYC, however this bag isn’t one of them. since of the high quality as well as the color, I’m not afraid of utilizing it, as well as that states a lot! There’s nothing worse than costs a great deal of money on a bag only to have it sit in your wardrobe since you’re afraid of utilizing it.

The performance of this bag is likewise what drew me to it. I like that it can be used over the shoulder long, doubled for a shorter strap decrease or used crossbody. With my hectic lifestyle, I definitely wear this bag crossbody the most, however this weekend I used it to a wedding event as well as used it over my shoulder, however not doubled as well as it didn’t slide off of me. I like that it has a leather area that rests on your shoulder, which not all chain bags have. Inside, I in shape all of my usuals, as well as below is a shot of what I actually—really, it’s all my stuff!—carry day to day. at times I have a second phone in there also for work, so this bag can really hold a decent amount! There is one interior zip pocket, which I haven’t really utilized that much, since I’ve been keeping my cosmetics in a mini case. The bag is lined in durable microfiber, however it feels like suede. general dimensions of the little GG Marmont Matelassé shoulder Bag are 10″W x 6″H x 3″D, with a shoulder strap decrease of 22″, or a top handle decrease of 12”. snag one of your own via Gucci for $1,980. What do you believe of my decision? Do you want one too?

Zac Posen Antonia Bag

A luscious shade of emerald green is reminiscent of the Greek goddess Aphrodite. Pairing this divine color in an sleek sophisticated handbag gives Zac Posen an edge over the rest of his competition for a hit. eLuxury exclusively carries the emerald Zac Posen Antonia Bag, which will lure in handbag enthusiasts and green color lovers worldwide. The green patent leather offers a sleek and sophisticated touch along with the aged gold metal hardware. There is a front flap with a hexagonal ring pull. This handbag exudes a feeling of prim and proper, for the business lady or the woman with her Chanel suit. then again, pair this with jeans and be casual chic, the possibilities are endless. fall is calling for clean lines, structure, and patent leather, so could this handbag be much more of a hit? lush suede finishes off the interior and measurements are 15″x 11″x 4″. exclusively at eLuxury for $1200. get yours before this color is no longer available!

Kooba Slouchy leather Hobo

I consider Kooba to be a relatively contemporary brand. For the most part, when I think of Kooba, I think of younger-ish women carrying the bags (meaning teens thru 30s and maybe even into 40s). I know I am making a rather big generalization, but hey, it is what it is. However, here is a Kooba bag that is absolutely amazing and one that a wide range of age groups should find appealing.

The Kooba Slouchy leather Hobo is a bit sophisticated without being overly extravagant. first things first, does anyone else think this bag isn’t quite “slouchy”? To me, due to the angular zip closures, it is more structured than slouchy. I haven’t had the chance to see this bag in person yet, so perhaps in person it is slouchy. Either way, this isn’t a point worth arguing because the bag is rather fabulous. I’m loving this blue color, but if you aren’t, it’s available in white, mocha and celadon. The single shoulder strap is embellished with goldtone hardware and just the tiniest bit of wrapped leather where the strap meets the bag. all in all, this is a bit different than what I’ve been accustom to expect from Kooba and I like it. buy through Nordstrom for $595.
