Dautore Linking strap Hobo

When you guys were kids, did you ever take part in the truly elaborate lanyard-weaving with the plastic-y, brightly colored strips of…well, whatever they were? The stuff which you used to make lanyards? I did, as well as the end result was always this weird, rigid box-weave column of uselessness. For the life of me, I can’t keep in mind what we did with them or why we felt so compelled to make them. It was an strange ritual of girlhood, as well as one that I can’t completely location now that I look back on it.

And the reason that I’m looking back on it at all is the Dautore Linking strap Hobo.

At least, it appears as though someone has figured out what to do with our weird box weavings – make them in to handbag straps! I worry that they may flatten with time as well as use, however other than that, it’s really rather a good idea. They’re geometric as well as modern-looking in this muted color palette, as well as they offer visual rate of interest in a way for which other designers may depend on hardware.

What stops me from being completely enthusiastic is the color. Sure, it sort of goes along with the minimalistic geometry that we’ve got going on here, however it’s the shade of pea soup as well as I’m not especially fond of it. It seems practically noncommittal – practically a genuine color, practically not, wavering out there in between the two options, unwilling to pick one side or the other. as well as ultimately, I want a bag that goes confidently in the direction of its dreams. The lanyard deal with is a cute touch, though. purchase through Bloomingdale’s for $580.

Dior’s cruise 2017 Bags have Arrived, including new personalization choices for the woman Dior Bag

personalization is a big pattern in high-end fashion, however it can present something of a logistical issue with specific type of designer bags. accessories consumers are much more likely to view their purchases as a long-lasting investment in their wardrobes, particularly when it concerns specific traditional bags that keep their value well at resale or that may be passed on to a child or niece. together with all the bags in Dior‘s cruise 2017 collection, which are offered now, the brand has an concept about non-permanent personalization in Dior lucky Badges.

On numerous of the woman Dior Bags below, which the brand is calling the My woman Dior line, you’ll see straps that function three bit metal disks, which is where you can attach the badges of your choosing. The offered choices include letters, hashtags, Dior logos, stars as well as other symbols, all of which can be mixed as well as matched (or eliminated entirely) at will. When they’re gone, the bit metal disks to which they attach don’t look as well poor on their own, so having the choice to customize doesn’t interrupt the bag’s general style in any type of super-noticable way.

Check out those bags, in addition to new Diorevers, Dioramas as well as more, below. These bags ought to be offered in Dior shops now.

Are Rockstuds, Like, classic By Now?

Valentino first debuted its now renowned and instantly recognizable Rockstuds at its spring 2011 runway show in Paris. now nearing their tenth birthday it’s obvious that Rockstuds are here to stay. many recently, the brand showcased its newest collection at Paris fashion Week for fall 2020, and Rockstuds made an appearance, popping up on brand new designs in ways both big and small. So can or ought to Rockstuds really be considered a classic now? part of me says yes, but another part of me wants to say no—let’s discuss.

Classic—the word can imply a few different things and is actually a bit much more complex when you do a deep dive into the word. On the one hand, according to Merriam-Webster, classic is defined as ‘historically memorable’ and/or ‘serving as a standard of excellence ie- a recognized value’. When you define classic in that way, one could certainly argue that yes, Rockstuds are in fact a true classic.

Ten years in fashion is an extremely long time for any given item to last. For something to stick around for that long immediately indicates that an item is of value to the consumer. Also, ten years is indicative of a strong top of mind presence within the industry, which implies that an item is now part of fashion’s history.

When you think of classic in that way, it’s easy to argue that Rockstuds have in fact earned that sought after title. However, there’s another way to define the word that blurs the lines a little bit.

Classic: characterized by easy tailored lines in fashion year after year

Fashion’s definition of the word, according to Merriam-Webster, defines classic as being characterized by simple, tailored lines. Rockstuds are not simple, or clean—they’re loud, attention grabbing and instantly recognizable as ‘Valentino’. So where’s the middle ground here? Is calling Rockstuds classic contradictory? I think yes.

While there’s no doubt that Rockstuds have stood the test of time and are ingrained in fashion culture, time alone does not automatically deem something a classic. At this point I’d work out for calling them a staple in the luxury fashion world, but a true classic? Not this time.

Marc Jacobs Iggy shoulder Bag

now this is a surprise. A fall bag utterly devoid of studs? but it’s true. The only hint of rocker on this Marc Jacobs Iggy shoulder Bag is the fairly sedate chain-link strap. but that’s not the reason I was attracted to this bag, which, I admit, is an all-or-nothing bag, a love-it or hate-it bag.

No, I like it for the unique purple and teal color, which is heightened by the quilted python design. I mostly like the purple color because I am a enormous fan of purple handbags. I also really like when I see brightly-colored bags, because so often bags are in darker colors- brights simply draw your eye to the bag. Plus, isn’t that tiny lock on the front just adorable?

The only grievance I have (about the bag, not the lock) is the length of the chain strap. It’s so short that it seems out of proportion considering the size of the bag. If only it had a little much more length, then one would be able to sling it comfortably over the shoulder. It seems to me that it’s a little to short of a strap to do that; unless if the bag slouches sufficiently. One can hope! purchase through Saks for $1,295.

Watch this Lanvin video for Friday Laughs

view the video now!

Friday, you are here!! That implies fist pumps as well as celebration time, or in my situation shopping, movies, as well as long walks. Either way, TGIF to all PurseBlog readers. I wished to end this week on a light note, with the smart yet funny Lanvin Fall-Winter 2012 ad campaign video.

We’ve got Pitbull music in the background as well as lovely designs decorated in Lanvin attempting to dance. I believe this video reminds me why many designs bodies are much better for runway walks as well as still pictures versus uncomfortable dance moves. We’ve got a dash of uncoordinated motions paired with flimsy head rolls as well as great deals of arm swinging. All-in-all, this video is sure to brighten your day, as well as make you get up out of your seat as well as dance. Because, after all, you won’t look much weirder than the women as well as gents in this video.

And don’t miss Alber Elbaz dancing his method with two male designs to end the video. now go have an amazing weekend, dance like nobody is watching, as well as we will be back Monday!

The 11 best emerging Bag brands to view in 2018

[Editor’s Note: This week, we’re taking it a little slow to delight in one of the last weeks of summer, so we’ll have a mix of both new messages and the most popular articles we’ve published in the recent past. This is one of the latter, in case you missed it.

I have a confession: I actually really don’t like Instagram. Not only because it is a time suck, but also because I think it is slowly ruining all of us. (You didn’t think I was going to go there, did you?) but hear me out—Instagram started as a good idea, a place to share your instant images with pals and family, but boy, has it changed. The platform is all about your best life (even if it’s not close to reality), showing off, oversharing your family, and proving a point. The amount of people I see overthinking a single image and worrying about how numerous people engage with said image is sad, and I am certain it is creating enormous amounts of insecurity and stress. Plus, whatever happened to living in the moment and really experiencing what’s happening around you?

But Instagram still has it’s place for me. It’s a place I can connect with you and share some of our favorite bags and discover new designers! and I like that aspect of Instagram, I like seeing what you like and stumbling onto new accounts. In browsing my feed while on our PurseBlog account, I tend to get sucked in (ah, it’s the worst, but in this case, it’s the best too!) and find bags that catch my eye on different feeds. I’ve found brands that aren’t on my radar—some are brand new to me, while others I know but I don’t know, you know?

Since you are always asking for us to share new brands, I went down the rabbit hole of discovering new designers that I was pretty thrilled about. These are the 11 best handbag brands I’ve discovered on Instagram lately; let me know in the comments below which is your favorite!

CAFUNÉ
@cafune.official
Shop at ca-fune.com and Luisaviaroma
CAFUNÉ bags are glamorous yet understated and, overall, have a timeless appeal. I love the container bag in the image above—it’s much more structured than your typical container bag. There are a handful of designs, and like numerous on this list, you’ll find that the brand goes by “less is more.”

Cuyana
@cuyana
Shop Cuyana
Truth be told, I’ve heard of Cuyana here and there for a few years, but it’s always been on social media. I didn’t follow the brand or view much of what its doing, but I keep seeing it tagged on some other accounts I follow. The bags are easy and clean, I’ve read terrific things about the leather, and they’re priced very reasonably. Cuyana’s viewpoint is “fewer, better” which aligns with the timeless collection. They have clothing as well, and it’s easy and dreamy.

Haerfest
@haerfest
Shop Haerfest Bags
Founded by two brothers in 2011, the duo is a CFDA fashion Incubator 4.0 Designer. The company, pronounced “harvest”, is based in new York City, and its goal is to equip experts in motion. The bags are easy and straightforward, while being different and cool. prices are $650 and below.

Linjer
@linjerco
Shop Linjer bags
Fast company profiled Linjer in an short article titled, “Meet Linjer, the most popular leather goods startup You’ve never heard Of.” because targeting advertising works wonders, I’ve seen ads for Linjer on my personal Facebook page for some time now. It doesn’t seem to be all hype—recently it released the $425 Tulip bag, which had a 2,500-person waitlist and $600,000 in pre-sales on Indiegogo.

Senreve
@senreve
Shop Senreve Bags
We’ve already covered Senreve multiple times on our site, but it was an Instagram find. I saw a few bloggers I know carrying the bags, wound up on their account, and have worked with the brand because then. The bags are clean and extremely functional and usable (that’s what Senreve prides itself in), and my favorite bags are the Maestra and small Maestra.

Sezane
@sezane
Shop Sezane online
Sezane is not new at all, but it’s a brand we haven’t covered. Sezane designs can best be described as what everyone implies when they say “how to dress like a French girl”. There are much more than bags, and the clothes are good, but I really like the bags—they’re easy and easy to throw on and carry, and I’d like to think I’d look as amazing as the other people I see wearing Sezane.

RSVP Paris
@rsvp_paris
Shop RSVP Paris online
Though many of these designs are small leather goods (there’s only one larger bag, which goes for $487), I think all of us tend to look for card cases, wallets, and other pint-size bag items that are just as important. RSVP Paris allows for personalization, and you can get creative with it, plus its Instagram is very funky.

POLÈNE
@polene_paris
Shop Polène Paris Bag
These bags looks entirely luxurious, and the price tag is really fair—380€ and below. They have a store in Paris that looks exquisite, and the bag above is dreamy! The brand reached out to me just this week and may send a bag my way to check out—I’ll keep you posted.

The VOLON
@thevolon
Shop thevolon.com and at Net-A-Porter
Most of The Volon’s bags are structured and quirky, with details like tassels and different material and color combos. While numerous of the bags are not suited for my daily life, plenty of others are, and if you want something new and unique, this brand brings it.

Wandler
@wandler
Shop Wandler estore and at Net-A-Porter
I’m really into these bags—the Hortensia, to be accurate (and this mint shade is divine!). prices are 800€ and below, and the vibe could be described as stylish street style fodder that is still wearable for the lady on the grocery store and school pick-up run.

Yuzefi
@yuzefi
Shop Yuzefi online and at Net-A-Porter
Founded in 2015 by Naza Yousefi, Yuzefi bags mix modern and unusual. The end result are striking, handcrafted bags that have become very popular across Instagram, from fashion editors to street style stars. The brand is now carried at Net-A-Porter, so it’s clear they’re onto something.
